Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed October 25th, 2026.
BLRB Digital LLC wants everyone to be able to use Shortlist, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, voice control, screen magnification or captions. This statement covers the website at shortlist.watch.
The standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, published by the W3C.
Where we are today
Shortlist partially conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That means most of the site meets the standard and some parts don't yet. The gaps we know about:
We have not yet finished a full manual review with every major screen reader. Most of our testing so far is automated.
On the tier lists, each poster's text alternative is the title and year. It names the film but does not describe the artwork.
The Shortlist apps for iPhone and Android are not covered by the checks described on this page.
What we do about it
We run automated WCAG 2.2 AA checks on a sample of our pages every week and fix what they find.
We fix problems in the code itself. We don't use accessibility overlay widgets.
Tell us about a problem
If something on Shortlist doesn't work for you, email admin@blrbdigital.com. Tell us the page and what went wrong. We reply within 5 business days. While we fix it, we'll help you get the information or finish the task another way.
Technical details
The website uses HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It is built to work with current versions of the major browsers and screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS, TalkBack). Articles, tier lists and guides are served as complete HTML, so you can read them with JavaScript turned off.
Information for customers in the European Union
This section gives the information the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882, Annex V) asks service providers to publish.
The service
Shortlist is an app for ranking movies and TV shows. You pick the better of two titles, again and again, and your ranked list builds itself. You can also keep a watchlist and share your lists with friends. The website at shortlist.watch publishes tier lists, watch order guides, ranking tools that run in the browser, and The Reel, a weekly movie newsletter.
How it works
The website is free and sells nothing. You can read every page and use the ranking tools without an account. To get The Reel, you enter your email address. The Shortlist apps for iPhone and Android are free downloads from the Apple App Store and Google Play. Anything sold inside the apps is sold through those stores, never on this website.
How it meets the accessibility requirements
We design and test the website against WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the web content requirements used by the European standard EN 301 549. Our status is partially conformant, with the gaps listed above. Our automated checks cover text alternatives for images, color contrast, labels on form fields, names for links and buttons, the page language, and that zoom is never blocked.
