Watch Order Guide
Spider-Man Movies in Order: How to Watch All 10 Films (2026)
Three actors, four eras, ten films, and a new one on July 31. Here is every Spider-Man movie in order, with exact runtimes, plus the shortest honest catch-up before Brand New Day.
The Short Answer
Watch the Spider-Man movies in release order. Unlike most superhero franchises, Spider-Man has no meaningful chronological order to untangle: the four eras are reboots, not sequels to each other, so the release order and the story order are the same thing. The only film that depends on the others is No Way Home, and it is designed to be watched last precisely because it pulls all three live-action eras together.
If you are here because Spider-Man: Brand New Day opens on July 31, 2026 and you want to know what to rewatch first, skip to the catch-up plans. The honest answer is one film, and it is 2h 28m long.

What to Watch Before Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Brand New Day arrives on July 31, 2026, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, who wrote all three previous Tom Holland solo films. It begins from the ending of No Way Home: Doctor Strange's spell erased Peter Parker from the memory of every person alive, and the new film picks him up four years later, anonymous, working street level, with his powers changing in ways the studio has described as surprising and potentially dangerous.
That premise tells you exactly how much homework you owe. Here are the three plans, cheapest first.
The minimum
1 film · 2h 28mBrand New Day opens from the last scene of No Way Home: the world has forgotten Peter Parker exists. Rewatch this one film and you are fully caught up on the premise.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
The sensible catch-up
3 films · 6h 50mThe Tom Holland trilogy is one continuous story, and Brand New Day is its fourth chapter. Michael Mando returns as Scorpion, a thread left dangling in the Homecoming credits nine years ago.
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
The completionist
8 films · 17h 55mAll eight live-action films. Worth it only because No Way Home pays off the Raimi and Garfield eras directly, so their films stop being trivia and start being setup.
Spider-Man (2002), Spider-Man 2 (2004), Spider-Man 3 (2007), The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014), Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Note what is not on any of those lists: the two Spider-Verse films. They are 4h 17m of superb animation telling a self-contained Miles Morales story in a different continuity, and they have no bearing on Brand New Day. Watch them because they are among the best films in the franchise, not as homework.
Spider-Man Movies in Order by Era
If you would rather watch one actor's run start to finish, the four eras split cleanly:
The Raimi trilogy (6h 27m)
Tobey Maguire, directed by Sam Raimi. Spider-Man (2002), Spider-Man 2 (2004), Spider-Man 3 (2007). These invented the modern superhero blockbuster, and Spider-Man 2 is still the film every other entry gets measured against.
The Amazing Spider-Man (4h 38m)
Andrew Garfield, directed by Marc Webb. The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014). A darker reboot that arrived too soon after Raimi and ended early. Garfield's performance has aged far better than the films around it, which No Way Home proved to a cinema full of people screaming.
The MCU trilogy (6h 50m)
Tom Holland, inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Homecoming (2017), Far From Home (2019), No Way Home (2021). This is the run Brand New Day continues. Holland also appears in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, but none of those are Spider-Man films and none are required for the new one.
The Spider-Verse films (4h 17m)
Animated, following Miles Morales. Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and Across the Spider-Verse (2023). Be warned that Across the Spider-Verse ends on a hard cliffhanger, and the conclusion, Beyond the Spider-Verse, is currently dated for June 18, 2027.
Do You Need to Watch the Venom Movies?
No. Venom, Morbius, Madame Web, and Kraven the Hunter belong to Sony's Spider-Man Universe, a set of spinoffs in which Spider-Man himself does not appear. There is a brief Venom crossover in No Way Home's credits scene and that is the extent of it. They are not part of this watch order, though you can absolutely rank them as their own list.
Spider-Man Watch Order FAQ
What order should I watch the Spider-Man movies in?
Release order. The eras are reboots rather than sequels, so there is no chronology to reconstruct, and No Way Home only lands properly if the Raimi and Garfield films came first.
How many Spider-Man movies are there?
Ten have been released, running 22h 12m in total. Spider-Man: Brand New Day makes eleven on July 31, 2026.
What is the shortest way to catch up before Brand New Day?
Rewatch No Way Home, and nothing else. It is 2h 28m, and the new film opens directly from its ending.
Can I skip the Amazing Spider-Man films?
For Brand New Day, yes. For No Way Home, no: Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker is one of that film's three leads, and his arc only pays off if you have watched him fail to save Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Where can I stream the Spider-Man movies?
Streaming rights for the Sony library move around frequently, so any list published today is wrong within months. Search the film in Shortlist and it will show you where it is streaming right now, in your region.
